Timber

Timber is my main material, and something I'm passionate about - finding the right timber, from the right (and where possible) local source.

I use a variety of mostly English hardwoods, some of which are locally sourced and came to me as trees or recently sawn timber, which I've air dried over the past 5-10 years, and am now using.  Timbers include Oak/Ash/Chestnut (Ashridge Estate, National Trust), Cherry/Hawthorn/Apple/Holly (local private gardens).  I have other some other timber, including a little US Walnut/Maple/Sycamore/Oak/Ash, but aim to use mostly English Timber when these planks are used up.
